We are asking for residents’ views on the future of Woolston Neighbourhood Hub.

The hub has been partially closed since July and fully closed since September 2025, due to structural concerns and the presence of legionella bacteria in the water supply.

The estimated cost to fully repair the hub and bring it back into safe, operational use is around £3 million. While permanent closure is one of the options we are considering, no decision has yet been made, and we want to hear people’s views.

A seven-week public consultation will run from today, Tuesday 11 November to Friday 2nd January 2026.  All feedback will be crucial to helping the council shape the future of the hub.

The consultation will be available via https://www.warrington.gov.uk/woolston-hub-consultation from today, with hard copies of the survey available at Orford and Sankey hubs alongside the GP practice in Padgate from Monday 17 November.

The hub is a multi-purpose facility, housing a swimming pool, leisure facilities, library, a GP surgery, and community organisations.

All options are currently on the table. However, due to the high repair costs and ongoing financial challenges, the council is unlikely to be able to afford the repairs.

When does the consultation run?

The consultation runs for six weeks from Tuesday 11 November 2025 until Friday 2 January 2026.

We encourage all residents, community organisations, and LiveWire members who use the hub to take part.

How do I share my views?

Please visit and complete the online survey before Friday 2 January 2026. Following the consultation period, all feedback will be considered, before a final decision is made by the council’s Cabinet.
