Pre bookable, evening and weekend GP appointments to suit you

Extended Access appointments from 26th February 2024:

East Warrington Primary Care Network (EWPCN) consists of Birchwood Medical Centre, Fearnhead Cross Medical Centre, and Padgate Medical Centre. We will deliver a shared enhanced access service for patients who are registered with one of our practices. The service is available Monday – Thursday at one of our practices, and Friday – Sunday the service is available from Orford Jubilee Hub. More details are given below in our frequently asked questions below.

A Practice Nurse/Health Care Assistant every Monday – Thursday between 6:30pm  – 8:30 p.m.

GP’s will be available for Face to Face and telephone consultations Monday –  Thursday between 6.30pm – 8.30pm

Padgate Medical Centre will be delivering an Enhanced Access Service on a Wednesday from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

FAQ 

Is this a change to current services?

Yes, this is a slight change in service delivery.

Previously the service was delivered across Warrington town in collaboration with three other Primary Care Networks.  Therefore, appointments were offered across the town at several locations, and Quay Healthcare Ltd, were responsible for delivering the whole service.

Practices in the East of Warrington will now run their own service Monday- Thursday (which gives patients more convenient, local ‘Access’ to their surgeries.)

Quay Healthcare will continue to run the service on behalf of practices, Friday-Sunday.

Why change?

Our GPs, and practice staff wish to improve ‘Access’ for patients and have recently been reviewing current arrangements, seeking opportunities to make improvements and increase patient satisfaction. We believe that bringing the service in-house and offering more appointments within the East Warrington community, will benefit patients and increase uptake.

Where is the service located?

The service is located at the following practices:

Monday – Birchwood Medical Centre

Tuesday – Fearnhead Cross Medical Centre

Wednesday – Padgate Medical Centre

Thursday – Fearnhead Cross Medical Centre

Friday – Sunday – Orford Jubilee Hub

Patients may be offered appointments, at one of the above locations.

How do I contact the service?

Contact your GP Practice as you would usually (either by telephone, or via an online consultation, and request an appointment with the ‘enhanced access service’).
