Patient Participation Masterclass – How to get the most out of your volunteering.
Tuesday 26th October 1 – 2:30 pm
The CCG’s Engagement Team are offering masterclass sessions to anyone currently volunteering for their Practice PPG in Warrington or Halton, to offer support, refresher training and networking.
The pandemic has presented significant challenges to the support and activities of Patient Participation Groups, with some unable to function due to social restrictions and digital barriers. This has resulted in a mixed picture of PPG activities – some groups continue to thrive using digital meetings and platforms such as social media, whilst others have experienced volunteers leaving and perhaps activity stopping altogether.
The following session is designed for current PPG volunteers, regardless of how active your PPG currently is. There may be a whole group of you, or you could be the only person left in the group.
The session will focus on supporting you to get the most out of your volunteering and your relationship with your practice, and will cover the following topics
- The practicalities of volunteering in a post-pandemic world.
- Forward facing: An overview of Primary Care, and your place within it
- What it means to be part of a PPG
- Representation and responsibility
- Self-assessment: your key skills and attributes
If you would like to attend, please contact the surgery and we can arrange this for you.
The session will be recorded and distributed for those unable to attend.
