Medical Receptionist

Operation of telephone system

Management of appointment systems

Management of manual medical records

Processing prescriptions

Preparation of consulting rooms

Start and end of day opening & closing procedures

Use of all computer systems

Scanning of correspondence onto medical records and some coding

Signposting to other healthcare providers

Person Specification Experience Essential

  • Customer service experience

  • Excellent IT skills

  • Confident telephone manner

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Flexibility to work additional hours

  • Time management skills

  • Able to keep calm under pressure

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a GP practice

  • Knowledge of Systm One

Qualifications Essential

  • Person Specification Qualifications Essential

  • GCSE qualifications including Maths and English

  • Desirable

  • NVQ Level 3 in customer Care/Services

Pay

  • Starting from £12.21 per hour then increasing on regular review & assessment

Shifts:

Part time (hours): 2 weeks of 7:45-1:45 then 2 weeks of 12:30-6:30.

Also extended access shifts up to 8:30pm (on rotation)
